About Daniel

I’m a Systems & Industrial Engineering student at the University of Arizona with minors in Mathematics and Computer Science, who graduated in December 2025, and I specialize in helping students not just get the right answer, but understand why the math works and how to use it confidently.

My academic background sits at the intersection of math, engineering, and data science. I’ve taken and applied advanced coursework in linear algebra, probability, statistics, optimization, numerical methods, and machine learning, and I actively use these tools in real projects — from predictive modeling in finance to algorithm design and engineering systems. This means I don’t teach math as a collection of formulas; I teach it as a logical system that actually does things.

What makes me an effective tutor is that I’m very intentional about how I teach:

• I break complex topics into clear conceptual building blocks

• I adapt explanations to how you think, not just how the textbook explains it

• I focus on intuition first, then formalism, so ideas stick long-term

• I coach students through problem-solving instead of just giving answers

Whether it’s algebra, calculus, linear algebra, probability, statistics, physics, or programming-based math, I work step-by-step with students to remove confusion, rebuild confidence, and turn “I’m bad at math” into “Oh — that actually makes sense.”

I also have significant experience mentoring peers on technical material — walking people through proofs, algorithms, modeling assumptions, and code — and I’m known for being patient, structured, and very clear in explanations. I’m especially good at helping students who feel behind, overwhelmed, or frustrated, because I know how to slow things down and rebuild understanding from the ground up.

Beyond academics, I’ve worked in applied settings like finance and engineering where mistakes actually matter — so I emphasize precision, clarity, and good reasoning habits. This helps students not only pass exams, but develop the thinking skills that make higher-level math and science much easier later on.

In short: I don’t just tutor math and science — I teach students how to think mathematically.
