About Allen

Hi

I retired in 2014 after 35 years of teaching high school math, most of that time I taught Alg. 1 and 2. I have taught Honors Alg. 2 at least 25 times. I have also taught Geometry and Trigonometric many times. I was the head of the Math Dept. for the last 7 years that I taught. I also taught College Algebra at St. Augustine College for 10 years at night. I have tutored many of my students as needed during my years of teaching. I am very good at helping students understand the concepts of math. My former students say that I make math easy for them. Since I am retired, I am free to tutor almost anytime and can start immediately. I tutor 4-6 students each week one-on-one. If you have any questions please call, text, or email me.

Perfect! Before I worked with Al, I knew little to nothing about math. But with a couple of weeks of hard work we pulled off an A in my math class. If you don't understand something, he explains it in different ways until you understand. Al is very patient, kind, and funny. Trust me if your looking for a tutor this is the right stop.

Al helped my daughter get through a geometry summer school course. Her final grade was a high B...a stark contrast from the first time she took the course and also a victory for us. :) Al seems to love what he does, knows the material and has a keen sense of the student's level. He was able to teach my daughter in a way that she understood. Al also has a great deal of insight in regards to how tutoring would be most effective based on the course schedule and curriculum, which alleviated some of the stress for both parent and student. Al is good people. We appreciate him very much and will continue to call on his expertise if and when the need arises in the future.
