About Brian

Down to earth tutoring, I know not everyone will get it at first and I will try my best to explain as well as I can along with giving the time to have them grow so they can branch out and not always need tutoring. I want to help them with their current problem and have a greater understanding while trying to also be affordable. I've helped classmates and friends in the past understand math from a basic point up to Calculus 2 with great success of them understanding and passing the class.

Helping those in areas they struggle at or want to get ahead in. I know how difficult it can be for people at times with either the frustration of a problem or concept itself or even times where you just don't get it. Helping people understand makes me happy to know I've done a good job.

Started by helping those around me struggling with after class and sometimes in-class sessions. Started with problems on homework to concepts as a whole.

I'm a Computer Science Major who graduated with honors this year with a 2-year degree. Currently going for my 4-year as we speak. I have tutored classmates and other friends who came to me with math problems.

About the lesson

Would like to know first what they're struggling on in advance. Can be a problem or a concept, knowing in advance will let me get prepared on what to do to best help them out.

Also if people want to try the Pomodoro technique. I'll be willing to do that as well. For those who don't know what it is it consists of working for 25 minutes, then break for 5 minutes and doing it again. For an hour that would be 50 minutes of work and 10 of a small break to drink, get everything situated.

Students who have the drive to improve but who had hit a bump with what they're learning. Students who got frustrated with the work given. Also, those who just genuinely don't have an idea of where to start.

Mutual trust and respect would be appreciated. I don't mind if people are on their phone, but wouldn't want it to be a habit if they are willing to learn. Don't be afraid to ask questions or if you need to stop for a second for a break or anything I can see about pausing, without charging you, so you can get everything together. I understand what we're going through right now can be stressful being stuck at home and adjusting to everything.

It was when a friend came for help with college algebra and I started off by helping her understand some homework. She had came back with more questions and slowly asked less and less for help and told me she had passed the class. Whenever asks you for less help it means they got an understanding of it and that feeling of knowing I helped makes me smile.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
How to ask the question and in how much detail they can explain. For example, A simple question does work but if the student goes in more detail then the teacher can help out in greater detail.

Honestly, I'm new at charging for this. I would like to try $15/Hour but I am flexible with it. If the lesson doesn't need to be an hour at a time I can work around it.
