About Kia

I really like to figure out what kind of approach is best suited for each of my students.

I also have a graduate degree in mechanical engineering which puts me above most others since my understanding of theories is more in-depth.

I really enjoy helping others with the subjects I'm an expert in as it helps keep me sharp and on my feet. I always enjoy a challenge and never know what kind of problem I will come across, but I am always prepared to tackle it!

First started in a mentorship role at a summer camp as a camp counslor.

After that I went on to tutor at College of the Canyons in the Learning Center where I helped with multiple subjects in STEM as well as facilitated math workshops

Now I currently do Sylvan tutoring for K-12 in Math/Reading/Writing

I've hade experience working at sylan for a few months working with k-12 for math/reading/writing tutoring.

I also have experience tutoring students at COC in various subjects in math/physics/engineering over the course of a year.

Definitely make sure the tutor you're looking for is patient with their tutoring. The ability to explain things in different ways is also very important for a tutor to have.

Recently became certified as an Engineering in Training (EIT). This falls in line with one of my dream goals of becoming a Professional Engineer Liscense holder (PE).

Students should ask themselves where they're struggling:

Is there a problem with theory? Having trouble with arithmitic?

Identifying this is the first step to improving at a suject.
