About Stephanie

I am a teacher who is passionate about math and loves to see her students reach their full potential. I love to help struggling students by identifying areas of weakness and building from there. I have taught elementary school for 12 years in Indianapolis. I also have 8 years of tutoring experience outside of the school setting. My teaching license is active in Indiana and Kentucky in Elementary Education and Math Education.

I always wanted to be a teacher growing up and the thought stuck with me through college. Now, here I am 12 years later...still at it. :)

I am a licensed math teacher and have taught for 12 years in grades 3 - 12.

About the lesson

I like to start with finding students struggling points and go from there. I can usually find out where a student is struggling within the first session or two.

I have worked with students in grades 3-12. I have tutored in basic math, pre-algebra, algebra, algebra 2, geometry, and college algebra. I have worked with students who were multiple grade levels behind but have also worked with those who just want to improve their skills in Math.

I was tutoring a student in her Algebra 2 class. When she came to me, her teacher said that she could redo anything that she did not do well on for classwork or homework and that she could do retakes of quizzes after she finished the work. She had a 35% in the class when we started and I met with her 2 days per week. By the end of the grading period, she had the highest score, a 99% in the class, and was asked to help work with other studetns who were struggling. It turns out that she was lacking in 6th grade skills which was making her make silly errors in her Algebra work.

Details

My price ranges from $20 - $35 per hour depending on travel expenses and on the level of students course. The lower level math would result in lower cost.
