About Jivat

One of the things that I love most about teaching other students these topics that are deemed as "too difficult" is showing the students that it's not as bad as they think. With a little hard work and a general curiosity, it will take you a long way. I used to be really bad at math and believed that I could never be good at it, but after finding my passion, I realized how wrong I was. Now, I study every day and I love practicing math and science for fun. I have only tutored classmates, which was well received and made me feel confident enough to teach others! I go out of my way to ensure that whoever I am tutoring understands the topic fully and I try to make it as interactive as possible.

Not too long ago, I found my passion for Physics and love for math and science. I am an aspiring Astrophyiscs major who's dream is to become a professor/researcher. My girlfriend and friends told me that I am like an eccentric teacher because my passion for these topics really pulls them in. I love knowing that I am helping someone to understand a topic that they were struggling with as I will do everything I can to make learning fun, engaging, and easy to follow.

My dream is to become a professor/researcher. My girlfriend is an art educator and introduced the idea of teaching to me after asking me about topics of physics. After I helped her understand, she told me that I should try and tutor others because she could see the passion I have for learning and sharing knowledge. This led me to tutoring classmates in Pre-calculus which was well recieved. I was really pleased to know that I was able to help others walk away with new knowledge that they've gained.

I believe being honest is best for building a connection with students. I do not have formal training in tutoring, but I have tutored my girlfriend and classmates in Pre-calculus. They all told me that I would be a great teacher, which boosted my confidence since my goal is to become a professor of Astrophysics.

About the lesson

What I like to do is to ask about my student's struggles, what they would like to target most, and what type of learner they are. After inquiring, I request some time (typically a day or less) to prepare accordingly.

Typically, I charge around $20-$30 per hour, depending on the topic and amount of time needed. I am fair and will discuss pricing with students to work out something that we are both happy with.
