About Dylan
Hello! My name is May, I've been a peer math tutor for Grossmont College since 06/23 and I'm currently Physics and Mathematics undergraduate major with hopes of attending grad school. I'm able to help K-12 as well as undergraduate and adult learners with math and physics.
My focus is on inspiring people to be excited about math and STEM, while trying to help students' intuition and arrive at their own solutions! I make use of the Socratic method. Students learn best when they're able to re-create the process themselves, and my goal is to guide them through their own understanding! In my process I modify my approach depending on what students respond to the best, and to best do this I first try to gauge their current level of understanding, and see which explanations and questions lead to "aha!" Moments and which ones don't.
I love math and physics, they're both beautiful and I hope to make them an exciting experience for more people!
