About Christopher

I am a Middle School Math Teacher in Brooklyn, New York. I am excited to be assisting students to strive in math in order to succeed in school. I have been working in the Department of Education in New York City for 8 years and have worked in after school programs as well. I take great pleasure helping students understand important topics in middle school math and preparing for exams. I believe your child will improve with the help of my strong educational background in math.

As a math teacher, I work hard to help struggling students in the classroom. I love being able to help students who don't enjoy math and turning it into a subject that they grow to love.

I have also provided homework help through an after school program where students ask for assistance on difficult math topics. With my skills I am able to make the content relatable to students by incorporating students' interests and motivators. I have been doing this for the last 4 years and the students I work with have seen an increase in their test scores.

I have received a Bachelors in Adolescent Education concentraing in Mathematics as well as a Masters in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.

I have also taken many courses to further my education in differentiating instruction in mathematics, Incorporating Math Games into the Classroom, Classroom Management Techniques, etc.

About the lesson

My typical process is to see what math level the student is at. This can be done by a student taking a pre-assessment or simply seeing a detailed progress report of the student's strengths and weaknesses.

I have worked with students with varying learning needs. I have had several students who excel in math but also have some students who struggle daily due to lack of motivation or simply struggle to understand mathematical concepts.
