About Arjun

I am a college student at UCLA with a 3.8+ GPA, have tutored with many different organizations - including both TeamTutors and Brighter Minds Tutoring - have over 8+ years of experience under my belt, and have taught across almost all school subjects! Tutoring is something I hold absolutely dear to my heart, and I guarantee my students my full attention and dedication.

I started teaching when I was in 8th grade when I needed some extra cash. I would bike over to one of my old teacher's homes to tutor her son in 3rd-grade math. She gave me my first opportunity to actually try and tutor, and I've been tutoring ever sience.

I have tutored for 8+ years, and have worked for my high school's college counselor, and two independent tutoring organizations. I also am about to graduate from UCLA, so I completely understand the education system from a student's perspective.

About the lesson

I will work with them on the first day and pinpoint his or her weaknesses/things we can work on together. From then on, I will get the student's curriculum, and each week before we meet, prepare some sort of lesson plan or assignment that we can work on together during our sessions. Sometimes, if the student is one not to put in the work outside of our sessions, I will also schedule weekly quizzes so as to ensure the student's retention of the material.

All students, ranging from ages 8-18. I have also worked with students with attention disorders, like ADHD and ADD.

Try and find a teacher you can relate to and respect enough to listen to. In order to learn, you cannot be afraid to be challenged.

Recently at UCLA, a club for which I am the director, FitNut (Fitness and Nutrition), hosted its annual Olympics Day during which 400+ elementary school students came to UCLA's campus for a fun field and college exploration day. It was an absolute blast!

Just be honest! Don't lie about what you need help with! Tutors are here to help you. There are no such things as dumb questions - we had those same questions before we started teaching the subject material.
