About Kaylan
My name is Kaylan So, and I am a rising senior in high school. I am able to tutor elementary, middle, and high schoolers with a focus on SAT/ACT prep, math, and French. My lessons will focus on catching your student up to the standards then forging ahead with custom geared lesson plans and assessments.
I have been tutoring for 4 years, and my experience enables me to shape lesson plans to what the student is truly struggling with. I am armed with tips and tricks that helped me become a better student in a specific subject that will be very beneficial to my students.
Here is a list of my qualifications with the high school subjects I'm offering services in unless otherwise noted:

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me at (concealed information) Thank you, and I am looking forward to working with you or your child very soon!
I enjoy helping others build confidence in topics they were uneasy about before. I also take immense satisfaction in hearing that my students are starting to genuinely enjoy learning because of that confidence.
I genuinely enjoy learning new things, and it was troubling to discover that many of my peers did not. Half of the reason was their lack of confidence. I wanted to inspire others to be passionate about education and become more confident in any subject.
I have been private tutoring for four years in various subjects. I also work as a peer tutor at my high school so I am prepared to tutor older students as well. I am currently employed by Mathnasium, a math center.

My extensive experience enables me to shape lesson plans to what the student is truly struggling with. I achieve this with new students by asking them to prepare some sample work or giving them an evaluation exam first to determine which topics to tackle first. I am armed with tips and tricks that helped me become a better student in a specific subject that will be very beneficial to my students. I'll try to make them as comfortable as possible to help foster a love for learning.
I have worked with elementary, middle, and high schoolers.
My advice is to hire a teacher you are comfortable enough with to speak up when you want to focus on an area other than what your tutor is currently teaching. The right teacher would be happy to listen to you because they're ultimately trying to help you. But the teachers you should avoid are the people who are adamant about their learning plans.
I am currently teaching two students in French. That sparkle in their eyes when a concept finally clicked or a bright smile they gave when I complimented their improving pronunciation is a memory I'll always be fond of. I am incredibly proud of how much they've learned int eh past few weeks.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I believe that you don't have to ask yourself any questions before talking to a teacher about your needs. Doing so would be minimizing your struggles. Try to be as open and comfortable as possible with your teacher, which includes asking for help as soon as possible.

Kaylan was extremely
My 14-year-old daughter was struggling tremendously with her French work. Even with the long nights spent, she just wasn't confident in her abilities. I had lost all hope until I found Kaylan. Now, my daughter's test scores have significantly improved and she's actually enjoying her French classes! Highly recommend Kaylan's tutoring services!View more recommendations
