About Bhupen

Coming out of high school I had a passion for Mathematics & Chemistry and really enjoy sharing my knowledge of the subjects with students that find it difficult to grasp those subjects. I have a Masters in Mechanical Engineering and a good grasp of the fundamentals of STEM topics.

In addition to my regular job which involves working with numbers, accounting and financial analysis, teaching keeps me active and lets me share my knowledge. I recognise that irrespective of what field one chooses to make a career in, a strong foundation in Math & Pure Sciences go a long way and if I can help make it easier for a student that finds those topics difficult then it gives me great pleasure to teach.

I always had a keen interest in teaching and got to do some of it during my graduate student life as a Teaching Assistant or Teacher's Aide helping students in the labs. I was so interested in teaching that I used to provide free of cost tutoring to undergraduate students.

After almost 15 years in the industry, my interest in teaching re-kindled with my kids and since they are grown.

I was always an outstanding student throughtout high school and I was selected on merit at the most prestigious institute in the world known as IIT where I completed my Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering. I wanted to pursue higher education and earned a scholarship to earn a Masters in Engineering Mechanics from the University of Kentucky, after which I worked for almost 15 years as a Mechanical Engineer in industries such as Caterpillar, Motorola & Continental Automotive.

About the lesson

The process of teaching is a learning process for me as well and it gives me a sense of achievement if my student learns the subject matter effectively. I dont mind going over the alloted time in order to clear concepts for the student.

Currently, I have only worked with my own kids although in the past I have taught undergraduate students in my engineering program at Kentucky.

The experience of my son taking a Chemistry class at UC Berkeley. I was very happy when he secured an A at the very end even though he struggled a lot in the beginning and progressed from a C to an A by the end of the class.
