About Amanda
I have been a liscensed in-home childcare provider, for school aged children, for 11 years. I have also been a Special Education Assistant in the elemetary school for 1.5 years and alos worke to offer reading support to some awesome kids. I have a BA in Psych and a MA in Marital and Family Therapy. Bonus? I have three kids of my own!
I am available to work with kiddos in other subjects, as well. :)
(concealed information)
I love seeing the information click...and the eagerness to learn after having struggled with a subject. Kids still have the opportunity to change how they interact with school and different subjects. It is easy to say "I don't like it" and simply dismiss it like you would brussel sprouts. ;) The truth is that is a simple defense mechanism for most kids and changing the mindset to "this challenges me" or "I can totally learn this" helps a lot.

I want to build a rapport with the kids so they know they can trust me and I can get to know their style. If they aren't comfortable with me...we will get stuck. :) I would like to focus on the subjects they are actively working on in school and can provide worksheets and such that we can work on together if needed.

Mrs. Kop developed a positive working environment while working with a group of my students last year. They became eager participants and improved their reading scores, which continued through the year. She is incredibly patient, and bring out the best in everyone. My students benefited greatly from her expertise!
