About Mariah
I am a current geophysics PhD. student with a bachelor's degree in geology and applied math. I have been tutoring for nearly 10 years. Self empowerment through education has been a major part of my life philosophy. I want to instill a different view of educational success in my students and show them that academic achievements and failures don't make a person, but the exercises in critical thinking that come from our educations can be powerful enough to set people along the path in life they desire. I am not a homework tutor. Yes, I will help you with your homework, but openly my goal is to eventually get "fired"! I don't want my students to rely on me long term, I want to teach you to navigate problem solving. I want to actually help you improve in a subject and be able to continue improving on your own.
