About Gabriela

Hi there!

I am Certified EC-6th

I teach 3rd Grade Math

I have taught 1st grade all subjects and one year of 3rd grade all subjects.

Before teaching, I was a permanent substitute teacher for Bilingual teachers in my Elementary. There I got to be showcase my passion for teaching and be chosen to be a classroom teacher!

I have worked in After School care(KIN) where I had the opportunity to reteach learners in a fun and engaging way for them to understand their homework if needed.

My values in teaching are to first Know my WHO. What interests my learner, what strengths does my learner have, what needs does my learner have. Through the use of visuals, games, and engaging technology, I believe in meeting my learner with their prior knowledge before learning new content.

I enjoy getting to know each and every one of my learners and seeing them bloom throughout the year, attaining content through different ways based on their needs.

About the lesson

For Elementary students, my process is to build rapport, learn their interests, ask questions to ideptify their prior knowledge, create a safe and fun environment to begin each lesson. I also make sure to do formative assessments throughout the lesson that serve as checkpoints for understanding to make sure the student is following along and feels confident.
