About Lien

My service is sure to stand out because I believe that math is one of my strengths. I am a high school senior currently taking Calculus and I know that I would be able to help kids in their level of math. My goal is to not only get kids to understand how to do specific problems they are stuck on but to understand the steps so they can do that with every problem rather then just one.

I am very patient and dedicated when teaching younger kids and I really enjoy seeing their smile and their sigh of happiness and relief once they are able to genuinely understand what they are doing.

I started teaching around 2018 when my 10 year old neighbor was really struggling with their work and came to me. I spent each day with them teaching them to understand the basics so they are able to tackle the larger problems and what really what sparked my interests is their accomplishments. Seeing their smile and getting the problems right really made me dance with joy with them.

I have studied at Kumon when I was younger and I have been tutoring kids around my block since 2018.

About the lesson

Usually when working with a new student, I try and talk to them and get to know them to understand who they are. Though this has nothing to do with their work at first, each child has their way of learning and I would love to make them feel at ease and comfortable when starting to learn. I would then ease into the work figuring out what are their strengths and work out different ways to tackle and understand their lessons.

I have worked with younger kids up to 8th grade. I would be able to help older kids but as well but I have only had experience tutoring elementary school kids with their work and mainly teaching them basics.

I have no standard pricing at the moment. I understand due to COVID it is harder to afford tutoring so my pricing range is reasonably whatever the parent can afford.
