I first begin with asking them what they understand and what confuses them the most. Then I let the mwork through the problem until the get to a point where they do not understand then we work through it together step by step. To help students understand bigger concepts I like to tie it into concepts that they already know such as video games, TV shows, characters, ect.
Look for a teacher who understands your learning style.
