About Nicholas
I am an seasoned tutor and instructor with over 5 years of experience teaching subjects including math, science, and business/personal finance. I earned my degree in Applied Physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in 2020. During my time at RPI, I co-founded an educational nonprofit that developed materials and lessons that taught entrepreneurship to aspiring students in the area. Post-graduation, I've been working as a Product Manager at various edtech startups including Juni Learning, where in addition to being a PM I wrote multiple lessons and tutored over 15 students.
I specialize in building targeted and engaging learning experiences that not only provide students a strong understanding of the material, but an appreciation for its real-world application. My approach starts by understanding each student's goals, individual interests, and learning style. This allows me to tailor our lessons to best suit the student and ensure they remain engaged and successful. For example, for one of my students, I developed a custom AB calculus curriculum that incorporated multiple real-world projects applying calculus to robotics, aligning with his interests. I also prioritize close collaboration with parents to ensure we're meeting their goals and expectations.
