About Kyran
Hello students! I'm a recent college graduate from UCSC. I majored in Computer Science and minored in Mathematics. Throughout college, I tutored many students in Mathematics and Algorithms. I worked for a professor and held small group tutoring sessions. I also held extra 1 on 1 tutoring sessions for the people who needed extra help. I have lots of experience in a lot of subjects and I love to help people!
I really enjoy applying what I know and writing code but I am always looking to help others out. I'm great at working with people 1 on 1, and I enjoy peer reviewing work. When tutoring, I like to push my students in the right direction without giving away the solution.
By helping friends who didn't understand the classes we were taking.
I have a BS in computer science with a minor in math. I've tutored many friends in high school and in college for math and algorithms. I was employed by a computer science professor to hold lab sessions and tutor students in his class (teaching data structures in the language C). I also held 1 on 1 tutoring sessions for students that I met through friends who needed help in upper-division computer science classes.

Initially I'd like to review the section that's being studied, so I can get an understanding of what the student already knows and what they're struggling with. Once finished with the section, I would pick out some problems or we would move onto the homework.
I usually like to give the student a chance to solve the problem before doing it with me. I'd want the student to walk me through their logic for solving the problem, and I could then give corrections if necessary. If a student is stuck, I'll usually give an initial hint to get them started in the right direction.
Mostly college students but occasionally high school students.
