About Kayleigh
Working 1:1 with students to help them close academic gaps is something I am very passionate about. I love seeing the look on student's faces when they finally understand their material.
I worked as a tutor for three years in Florida [from 2013 to 2016] at Huntington Learning Center. I was their Lead Math Tutor for Exam Prep (any and all exams!) and later became their Assistant Director. I have tutored students of all ages in all subjects but my specialties are math up to Geometry and reading comprehension.
I then transitioned into classroom teaching where I taught 7th grade math and Algebra 1. I also taught 6th/7th grade science at a middle school in Lakewood, CO.
I now manage the Huntington Learning Center in my town and love getting to help so many families!
I love seeing that "ah-ha!" moment happen as students begin to understand what they're learning. It is such a great feeling for them!
I graduated from Florida State University in 2013 with a degree in Psychology. I transitioned to tutoring soon after graduating which led me to teaching.

I will ask to see as many examples of recent student work as possible to get a holistic view of the student's capabilities. I will inquire with the student themselves to better understand where they feel they are struggling. If necessary I may administer a grade-level "pre-test" to identify specific academic gaps in need of support.
I have worked with students ages 4-55. I have worked with students who are on a traditional schooling path as well as students in trade schools and GED students.
The image as my profile picture was one caught by a leadership team member at my school. We were walking to her car during lunch and it started snowing. It was the first time I had ever been in falling snow. I grew up in Florida and had just moved to Colorado in June of that year. She thought it was so crazy that I had never seen snow so she snapped that photo. Great memory

She always took the time to explain everything and was very good at explaining things
Ms. Elbaum was a very good teacher who was always ready to help any of her students. I remember especially that when it was five days before our Algebra EOC, I came to her and she happily taught any unit I was struggling with. Ms. Elbaum was always encouraging us even if we struggled on tests and that really motivated me to do my best. This year I’m taking Algebra 2, and what Ms. Elbaum taught me in algebra 1 still makes sense and I’m passing this class with good grades.
Kayleigh helped me all through out high school with math and exam prep as a private tutor. She really helped me excel in math and has a unique and special way of helping students understand even the most difficult mathematical problems. Kayleigh was one of the best tutors I had while in high school and I really enjoyed her energy and her teaching style. I was able to get into the college of my dreams, Florida Atlantic University because of the help I revived from Kayleigh as a tutor. Now as a junior in college, although the work is more difficult, I still use the techniques she taught me to excel in my math classes.
Amazing tutor! She helped me so much through my college math courses. Very knowledgeable, patient and really breaks things down in a way that works for you.
Ms Elbaum was a great tutor she showed me how to do the problem. Since I am a visual learner she found ways for me to understand. Because of her I got a 4 on my math FSA. I was lucky to have her and help me to being a great student.
