About Nagendra
Love mathematics in all its variety - puzzles, recreational mathematics, engineering & problem-solving mathematics, and theoretical topics.
Also love computer science for both its theoretical richness and practical applications. Spanning classical CS (algorithms, data structures) through new CS (Python, Machine Learning), I love all of this revolution that is taking place.
I possess a PhD in computer science. I have teaching experience at UT (Austin), UT Dallas and UNT.
I am hands on. That is what keeps me going. I couldn't really just teach from a textbook without relating to practical real-world uses. I program on a daily basis in C/C++/Python and I learn all the time. I guess I love being a student even after all these years of work experience!
Informally. Teaching friends' kids, and cousins & nephews of family.
I have a PhD in Computer Science from a very reputed University.

First, I assess the student's ability in mathematics and problem-solving. That helps decide where to begin, and the level of effort needed.
Next, we work out a suitable development plan - key topics, schedule of lessons, resources, meeting times, and evaluation plan.
I have worked with middle schoolers for mostly math and some very basic programming.
I have worked with high schoolers for more programming-oriented topics.
The student should openly discuss areas where he/she needs assistance or development.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
1. Is success in the chosen topic (mathematics, computer science-related topic) vital to pursuing higher education / career of choice?
2. Why is the student looking for tutoring help? What are the SPECIFIC topics?
3. How much time and effort is the student actually able to commit?

Details
As a rough guide, I would like to conduct lessons twice a week with each student that I am teaching. This helps maintain continuity and retention. I expect that the lesson plan is for at least one semester. Anything shorter - it is hard to plan and execute. Longer is preferred, but that is up to the student. Per semester, the price is 1000$.
