About Manaf

I aim to break down math problems and make sure students understand the fundamentals behind the problem, I will put in extra time (if needed) to help truly drive the math concepts home. I will ensure that your child has the confidence they need to successfully tackle their tests/exams. My goal is to build a solid math foundation for your child, which will ring true throughout their careers.

I enjoy teaching people and watching their confidence in their own abilities grow. Every student is different, and the only effective way to teach is by giving real-world, practical examples. This challenge is gratifying for me, and bringing the concepts to life is what I perhaps enjoy the most.

I have a graduate degree in Engineering; This translates to roughly 4 years of dealing with various math problems. I have tutored many of my colleagues on various occasions, and I am able to explain difficult concepts in relatable real-world examples.

About the lesson

My first few sessions involve building rapport and instilling confidence in the student's own ability. The student typically has a fair understanding of which areas need work and my process for helping a student understand the concepts is by breaking them into simple, bite-sized real-life examples and then driving the concepts home by understanding how to apply these concepts in various scenarios.
