About John

Hello!

Welcome to Math Tutoring for All. I'm a software engineer who loves math, puzzles and games. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics and Machine Learning at Carnegie Mellon University. I also achieved degrees in Logic and Computer Science.

I will help students achieve above and beyond the level of math they hope to reach, and show them opportunities to continue their math education. There are so many different applications of math that anybody can enjoy and pursue!

I've tutored math before to both classmates and younger students. I'm currently a tutor for Literacy Pittsburgh with a class of 4 adult students. I enjoy passing on the skills I was able to achieve in school and life thus far.

I enjoy sharing my passion for learning with students. All it takes is a few positive mentors in your life to make you understand what it means to be successful.

I've been a Literacy Pittsburgh Tutor for the last 3 months. I've also tutored math in high school and college.

About the lesson

I will contact the student to confirm their schedule and mine work out. We will then discuss where to meet. I'll create a review plan for the student based on their skills and what they hope to achieve. In terms of the lesson itself, I will assess what the student knows and what the student struggles with. We'll then practice problems that bridge the student's strengths and weaknesses.

High schoolers, College Students and Adults.

Find a teacher who seems passionate about what they're teaching! I had a poor expereince in high school with a chemistry tutor who seemed as bored by it as I was. Passionate teachers are always the best way to go.

I like to stay up to date on the advances of Machine Learning. A recent event that took place is the advant of Automated Driving in cities by Tesla.
