About Lora
I love sharing my love for math with students. I consider building a rapport with my students as essential as the content I teach and take pride in building those relationships.
I am in my third year as a middle school classroom teacher. My mathematical strengths range from elementary school to Algebra I and Geometry. I am certified in elementary education, middle school math, middle school language arts, and special education.
I always wanted to be a teacher, the main question was "of what?" I started as a communications major, but becoming a mother restricted my time for the studio, so I switched to health and physical education. I fell in love with special education and math along the way.
I have a masters in special education.
My certifications include: elementary education, special education, middle school math, middle school ELA, health and physical education, and supplemental instruction reading and math.

A good rapport is important, so I work on getting to know the student and the student getting to know me immediately. I also ask the parents for input so that I can have insight into what the student's challenges may be and what motivates the student.
