About James

My strongest suit is communication. As a tutor, I not only know math and but I how to teach it to people of all levels and backgrounds. With communication, I can build relationships and understand the struggles people are facing. As a robust communicator and a tutor, I can not only tell one how to do math, but do so in a compassionate and understanding way.

I love math, I love helping others, I love meeting new people, and I love building relationships with people looking to better themselves. I enjoy tutoring and the work I do because I get to see people better themselves and the world around them!

I have take college courses in math and have just completed Calculus III or the third year of calculus offered at Arizona State University.

On top of this, I frequently tutor classmates and have tutored throughout my career at all of my schools and in my neighborhood!

About the lesson

My typical process would be understand where the student struggles and what understanding they already have for certain concepts. From here I can begin to address their struggles with explanations, examples, and assistance in completing practice.

I have worked with students from elementary levels all the way up to college levels! I have also worked with honors students to struggling students. Everyone is different and everyone requires a certain approach.

Recently, while completing my third year calculus course at ASU, a classmate was struggling with concepts. The professor at the time wasn't very engaging and it was amazing to see how my assistance could turn a peer's math understanding from confusion and annoyance to understanding and appreciation!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Some good questions to reflect upon: what do I understand so far, what am I struggling with, what kind of assistance or help am I looking for, what do I want to prepare for exactly?

There are many more, but knowing where you need help and what your goals are can help tremendously!

I do not have a standard pricing system for my lessons. I tend to be a more laid back tutor who just wants to help where I can with what I can. I am open to negotiating pricing!
