About Koran

I enjoy allowing students to think critically and creatively. I don't have much experience with tutoring but I'm not only exceptional in math, writing, and social studies but I also enjoy talking with students and ensuring that the material is easily to understand as well as apply. My service stands out as I'm both a child at heart, love when children asks questions, as well as shows strong enthusiasm in their learning.

I have volunteered at various nonprofit organizations including Oasis and Eva's Village to not only provide basic necessities for low-income civilians but also assist children with free tutoring of many school subjects. As mentioned, I graduated from college with a Bachelor's in Criminology, therefore, ensuring I have a strong background in mathematics, writing, and social studies. I plan to work with a nonprofit dedicated to juvenile justice in the future so I only want to ensure that each child has the chance to be successful and garner as much knowledge as they can.

I don't have professional teaching experience or credentials but I have worked with children on their homework assignments during community service. Subjects ranged from English grammar to pre-algebra. I also find it very helpful with not only teaching students but allowing them to teach their tutor something.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Criminology/Criminal Justice. I have a strong background in mathematics, writing, reading, and social studies. Prior to switching my major, I was a Creative Writing major and excelled in many English-related curriculum.

About the lesson

My typical process is to introduce myself to a new student and try to determine common interests like books, movies, etc. Next, I would ask them what kind of teaching method they're familiar with and we would compromise and collaborate on how it would be best to execute the strategy effectively.

During my community service activities in college, I worked with students ranging from 1st - 6th graders. Also as a camp counselor, I've worked with primarily middle school students on different subjects and resolving conflicts.

It's important that students understand the essence of trial and error. If a tutor doesn't work out at first try, a student should not be discouraged. Instead, they should continue to look to find the right tutor or teacher for them.

I recently graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminology/Criminal Justice. I graduated with the honors designation: cum laude. It was a great accomplishment to see come to light and I couldn't be any more proud of myself.
