About Mo

I strive to maintain a patient and positive attitude so students feel safe and encouraged in their math learning. In my tutoring sessions, I guide students through math problems by helping them break down the question and use their current knowledge or intuition to solve problems. I encourage students to think of multiple ways to look at math problems and to practice their visual thinking and mental number sense.

I am a certificated math teacher in Washington and hold a Master in Teaching degree from The Evergreen State College. I also received my Bachelor's Degree there, where I took a variety of upper division math courses and cultivated a passion for sharing the beauty of mathematics and problem solving with others.

I tutor a variety of math subjects, including fractions, prealgebra, algebra 1, geometry, algebra 2, precalculus, calculus, AP calculus, and enrichment (math for fun!). I am also knowledgeable about ADHD and tools/strategies for working with executive functioning challenges.

About the lesson

I have a lot of experience working with middle school students, but I have also tutored students as young as 4th grade and up to calculus.

Perfect! Mo has been instrumental in helping our daughter with math for over two years now. The improvement was seen in the first semester with her math grade going up from D’s and F’s to B’s. By the second semester, she had gotten an A in math. This boosted her confidence so much that now she has A in all her classes.
