About Neil
I have 30 years of successful mathematics teaching experience at the community college level. This includes working with students one-on-one. The topics I have worked with the most are calculus, algebra, and trigonometry. I am also willing to help with other college, high school, or middle school mathematical topics. I have a Master's of Science degree in mathematics. I enjoy the beauty of mathematics and the thrill of solving challenging problems correctly. I try to help my students have similar experiences. I have worked with students who struggle with math and I understand the frustration and anxieties that can occur when students are struggling. I will patiently try to help students understand mathematical concepts. My goal as a tutor is to not only see tangible results but to also help students gain an understanding of the concepts. I love it when a student says they have always struggled with math and math anxiety but now they have learned that they can do math successfully! I have also recently been helping grade AP calculus exams.
