About Ruth

My name is Ruth. My friends call me Ruthie. I have loved Math ever since I learned how to count. I have a one year private tutoring experience with kids of all age groups from elementary to high school. I worked as a teaching assistant during my masters for a year as well. I also have six years of experience as a professional industrial engineer that helps me cover a lot of practical applications for Math. My true passion lies in helping my cousins, nieces and friends out with their math homework and test preps and sometimes their life problems😋 My theory is life may let you down but Math won’t - for every problem there is one right answer and just so many fun ways to get there. This is where I come in to help you find your X’s and answer your Y’s. So “sine” up and let me help make your least favorite subject a piece of “PI”😃

I'm a Christian and I love helping people. My favorite is helping kids. They are the upcoming generation. I believe in instilling them knowledge and excitement about Math that will help them through all phases of lives starting with just basic math needs through academics through planning finance way down the line. I enjoy doing this and to bring a smile to their faces. Nothing brings more joy and passion to the work I do than to see the joy on their faces when they finally get it.

Teaching means helping and that's who I am. I believe God has given me this knowledge and gift to use it to help others and doing that gives me joy.

In high school I majored in Math and Biology. Completed my undergrad in Electronics and Communication Engineering and my masters in Industrial Engineering. I have always needed to rely on Math and I have 6 years of experiencing applying concepts of math at my work as an engineer while helping my cousins and friends with their school math. I also have one year experience just private tutoring kids of different age groups from 3rd grade to high school.

About the lesson

Understanding their needs by communicating with my student's parents/guardians. Meeting my student and developing a plan that works for them and their schedule. Simplifying the concepts with familiar interests for the student and breaking it down to help them enjoy the session.
