About Spencer
I am currently a rising sophomore at Columbia University. I love working with and mentoring students, currently serving as a part time instructor for middle and high schoolers in persuasive writing, public speaking, and debate skills. In addition to extensive formal tutoring experience over the last 3 years, I have dedicated hours each week to assisting peers in subjects ranging from psychology to chemistry and calculus since I was a freshman in high school. I've found that I am good at seeing concepts from multiple angles, and am able to adapt my explanations of them to a student's strengths and experience. If needbe, I will try out a variety of different ways of conceptualizing and approaching a topic because I know that one will inevitably click; I truly believe that any student has the ability to learn any subject if they're thinking about it in the ideal way.
