About Adwith

I'm a Math and Computer Science student at Brown University from New Haven, Connecticut.

I teach any subject concerning Math, from pre-algebra to multivariable calculus, as well as computer science or a related field to students of any age. I also can provide ACT/SAT tutoring services.

ACT Score: 36

GPA: 4.0

I have over 5 years of professional experience working with students of elementary to high school age, both in a classroom and one-on-one setting. Over the past few years, I've spent a lot of time working for nonprofit organizations aimed at helping enrich the educational experiences of local students. I've also worked extensively as a private tutor and at a Kumon center.

I, like a lot of students, had trouble in school at a young age. I fell into my stride and had a lot of success in high school thanks to some thoughtful and patient mentorship from teachers. It's a large part of why I enjoy working with students so much.

I got started teaching after I realized what a profound effect my teachers in high school had on my growth, both academic and otherwise, coming out of middle school. I've enjoyed mentoring students similarly, imparting my passion for the subject in whatever way I can.

I've worked in education, both as a private tutor and a teacher at various non-profit organizations, for over five years.

About the lesson

I like to get to know my students and learn what teaching style works for them. Everyone learns at their own pace, and I like to use this information to set learning goals appropriate for the student so we can assess our progress. Sometimes learning a new concept can be frustrating and tedious, so I think its important to take our learning one step at a time and frame it in a way thats interesting to the student.
