About David
I love helping students achieve their math goals. I will work with students until they understand the mathematical concepts. I have taught math from grades 6th through 12th grade including Algebra I and II and Pre-Calculus in school districts such as North Kansas City, Hickman Mills, Kansas City MO school districts and at Imagine Renaissance I taught a Math Lab class, which focused on helping students that where at least 2 grade levels behind. In every school I have taught at I have raised test scores.
I new I wanted to teach since High School because of my High School Math teacher and he was able make me understand mathematical concepts that I would not be able to understand if he was not my teacher. I wanted to be able to help students like he did.
I have tutored and taught for 18 years in math from 6th grade to 12th. I have also worked at The Homework Zone, an internet and call in center that helped students on homework. Between teaching and tutoring I have learned how to explain concepts of mathematics in a way that connects students understanding to the daily lives. Working for The Homework Zone I had to learn how to explain concepts over the phone and that lead me to be able to explain math concepts in a way that students could easily understand.
