About Greg

With over eight years experience teaching calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations courses at the undergraduate level at the Georgia Institute of Technology, I have found that the best way to help students in a one-on-one setting is to identify the individual learning needs of the student, help them become aware of their own knowledge gaps, and guide them towards a path of being independent learners. This way I can best help them reach their own individual learning goals. My M.Ed. in distance education also helped me understand how important it is to understand the individual learning needs of the students I work with and to best customize the learning experience for each student. In April 2020 I was awarded the Robert Fulmer Faculty Teaching award at Georgia Tech, which recognizes faculty who exhibit genuine regard for undergraduate students during the first few years of their Engineering studies at Georgia Tech.

I enjoy helping others reach their individual learning goals. Whether the student seeks to understand a particular concept, or to identify more efficient ways to study for an exam, or to improve their grades in a course, I find the process of supporting a student through these challenges to be a rewarding process.

I started teaching mathematics when completing my Ph.D.. I was facinated with the process of helping individual students reach their individual learning needs.

I have a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, a Masters in Education specializing in distance education, and a Masters in Electrical Engineering.

About the lesson

I would like to meet with the student to quickly discuss their learning needs in more detail.

I have worked with senior high school students, and students taking first and second year college level math courses.
