About Amaniel

Why do the ever-changing slopes of a parabola seem to follow a pattern? How are parabolas even relevant to the universe? As I sat through Algebra II helping my classmates not struggle, I thought a lot about these questions (and others). Ironically, I learned the answer to those questions as I sat through college-level calculus during the next semester and struggled finding limits while my classmates conquered antiderivatives. Throughout my life, I have been the student who "knows everything" and the student who doesn't even know their own name. In both cases, I have learned to adapt to the circumstances and rewire my brain to think differently at different times.

Even though you won't need to balance a chemical equation or calculate the speed of a bullet every day, math and science (STEM disciplines) emphasize the best skill anyone can have: problem-solving. Ever since I began my tutoring/teaching career in 2017, my students have learned that they cannot let math problems (or any other problems, for that matter) get in the way of their goals and dreams. For instance, my current Algebra I students have mastered quadratic equations by using creativity to motivate them. So... how are parabolas even relevant to the universe? According to my current Algebra I students, they are meant to help humanity colonize the Moon, Mars, Jupiter, and the rest of the Milky Way so that they can establish Chipotles as are far as they wish to go.

Since 2011, I successfully studied almost every math from pre-algebra to differential equations in college. Since 2017, I have tutored students in subjects ranging from pre-algebra to physics. In 2020, I became certified by the state of Florida to teach mathematics in middle and high school.

Since 2013, I have successfully completed courses in chemistry, physics, and engineering-based classes. Since 2018, I have tutored students in chemistry, physical science, and physics. In 2020, I became certified by the state of Florida to teach chemistry and related science classes in middle and high school.
