About Caleb

I began tutoring my sophomore year of high school and due to my love of working with other students, I continued tutoring all the way through senior year. My first tutoring jobs initially came from parents who approached me and requested that I tutor their children in math and spanish. After that I began taking on more students and I loved it.

I am currently a six year medical student at the University of Missouri Kansas City. Due to the intensity of this program, I am well versed in study methods and different ways to learn a wide variety of material. Every class that I have taken has required a different approach which means that I have a great deal of experience with many different styles of classes and teachers. I have taken many different medical and undergraduate classes as well with a strong focus on math and science. Throughout high school I took many advanced courses including over 12 years of spanish and a wide variety of math classes from algebra 1 all the way through analytical geometry and calculus. I have also tutored many students my sophomore, junior, and senior years in geometry, algerbra 1 and 2, spanish, writing, and ACT prep.

About the lesson

When I work with new students, I typically spend the first session or two analyzing what their proficiency is in the topic and in what areas they need help (i.e. learning material in class, applying knowledge, study habits, etc.) I will usually then have the student send me some samples of their work prior to each session so that I can create a plan for helping them with the topic. At the end of each session I will also give the student a reccomended plan of action for studying to better assist them with understanding the material and to build stronger study habits.

I have worked with a very wide variety of students. I have worked with students from kindergarten through senior year of high school all of which had different proficiencies in their requested topics. Every student that I have tutored has had different struggles in their classes and in working with them we were able to find the source of their problems and overcome it.
