About Mackenzie

I have been a professional tutor for 6 years, working with students from middle school through college. I have a BS in mathematics from Davidson College and a MPH from Rutgers University. I specialize in tutoring mathematics and excel. I have worked with a variety of students with different learning abilities. I work with each student and family to make sure each student gets a targeted approach that works for them.

I love the moment when everything clicks. I take time to get to know my students on a personal level so I can find the right way to describe a problem to them. I use their words and reference that are part of their everyday life to make math and chemistry relatable.

I have a bachelors degree in mathematics from Davidson College and a Master of Public Health from Rutgers.

About the lesson

When I work with a new student I like to get to know them. I want to know what they do outside of school. I believe this helps my students relax and become comforatable with me. It also helps me as a tutor to think of new and creative ways to help my student succeed.

I have worked with all types of students, from middle school through college.
