About Jessica

Hello I'm Jessica! I am a senior in college, graduating this December 2019 with a bachelors in History. I intend to continue my education in pursuing my Masters in Education along with my teaching credential. I am a college athlete and was named one of this years NCCAA scholar athletes. I have also made it onto the Dean's List for academics for the last two semesters in a row. I have been tutoring for approximately 4 years now and I absolutely love it! I specialize in Elementary math and writing for college level courses.

I currently tutor in my college's writing center and have a couple 3rd graders I am helping in math. I plan to continue tutoring for as long as I can. I have previous experience in tutoring all throughout high school in numerous subjects (i.e. pre-algebra, geometry, algebra 1 and 2, and precalculus). I love being a tutor because I get to help others maximize their learning capabilities. I also believe tutoring is a great way to help motivate others to continue learning and improving.

It may seem a bit odd that I am a history major and tutor in my school's writing center, yet I offer a variety of tutoring for elementary level math and other math courses. Do not fear, I am actually very passionate when it comes to numbers. Growing up I always scored highest in all my math exams versus other subjects. I believe math can be fun and understand that others do not always feel the same way. I hope to apply my passion and instill a new found motivation in others for numbers. Whether it be passing one exam, getting ahead of the game, or simply finding one topic a bit difficult, I believe I can break down the subjects and help my students optimize their learning capabilities.

About the lesson

I like to get to know the student when first starting to tutor. I believe it is important to understand each students learning style and work with them in a way that will keep them encouraged and wanting to learn.
