About Leo

I graduated from Texas A&M with a bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering degree with Cum Laude honors. I have been tutoring all types of math to students of all ages since I was in high school. I am able to relate to students very well and explain math in a way that kids can understand better than in a stuffy class with a sub par teacher. I have found that most students are very bright, but just have a teacher that doesn't put in the effort needed.

I have a passion for helping kids be more confident in their mathematics abilities. I've met so many people that just had a couple classes throughout their lives that they couldn't understand, and down the line they get it stuck in their heads that they are useless at math. Nothing makes me happier than the first test that my students get back that's an A+, and I get a parent calling crying with happiness at how much their child has improved.

I have an Aerospace Engineering degree from Texas A&M, which by itself requires a lot of advanced mathematics. I supplemented the engineering major with a minor in mathematics.

About the lesson

The first lesson with a student is centered around seeing exactly what topics my new students are struggling with, and finding examples that will directly help them. Whether it be word problems, understanding variables, or more complex calculus, understanding where a student is struggling is the key. From there, subsequent lessons act as building blocks. I like to work with students on their homework, first doing a few problems together, following up with students doing problems on their own under my supervision.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Before meeting with me, students should get together all of the materials they need help with, both in the recent, past, and the present. If a student has coursework including homework and tests that they have failed, I can go over their mistakes with them and narrow down confusing points. Present struggles can also be quickly and efficiently addressed and fixed.

I charge 35$ an hour for my lessons. There's no committment for number of lessons, so if only a few lessons are necessary, there is no problem!
