About Jennifer

I am a senior at Texas Southern University. I will be starting student teaching which is my last step and sememster. I have passed both my EC-6 content teaching exam as well as my PPR exam. Both test required by the state of Texas to become a teacher.

Education is something no one can ever take away from someone. I have this love and passion for empowering my students in both academics and personal growth. "In order to suceed, we must first believe we can." This is my favorite quote and the foundation for my teaching. It is important for my students to know and believe they can learn and grow while also understanding and accepting that mistakes are welcomed and all a part of that growth!

I have a passion for teaching children.

I am currrently at TSU to be a teacher. I am in my final step and semester which is student teaching. I have passed both state exams necessary to become a fully certified teacher.

About the lesson

My typical process will always begin with a pre-assessmnet to determine student needs. After this, I can plan the necessary lessons according to the students' indivdual needs. There will be on-going teaching, re-teaching, guiding, scaffolding, formal, and informal assessmnets.

I have worked mostly with younger children who have difficulty reading.

I would advise that they pay attention to their gut feeling. Most students can determin if they will not like, like, or love a teacher within 5 minutes.

I was able to help my kindergarten student get motivated for learning. I always created fun activities for him so that he would get excited for learning.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
They should ask how teachers feel about testing and growth. I love test, but they do not always depict accuracy. After assessmnets, I always want to find out if my students are progressing. If they are, great job and lets keep working veen if they still failed it. If they are not progressing, let me see what I can do to change something or find out if there is something going on with my student.
