About Andrea

I think I connect very easily with students. Also, I am able to tailor sessions to each individual and their learning styles.

I love connecting with students and seeing their growth. I love moments when concepts click for them. I also enjoy seeing students' confidence in their abilities increase over time.

I enrolled in college as an elementary education major. During my first year, I really missed math classes so switched my major to math. Through tutoring, I can combine both passions.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Math with a minor in Psychology. I graduated from college in 2021. During the academic year from Fall 2021- May 2022, I was enrolled in a math Ph.D. program. During this year I served as a teacher's assistant. In this role, I led recitations for groups of about twenty students 3-4 times per week. I also held office hours, worked in a math tutoring center on campus, and graded students' work.

About the lesson

I like to talk with them and have them get comfortable with me. Then I like to see where their current understanding of the math material lies. I like to go through concepts with them to assess which learning styles work best for them.

I've tutored mostly college students but also work with a fifth grader. I also volunteered tutoring middle schoolers while I was in high school.

I would recommend they look for someone who caters their teaching style to suit the student's needs.

I spent the summer as a nanny in Europe. I got to experience life in Italy and travel on the weekends!
