About Myles

Looking for an experienced, successful tutor & mentor for your middle or high school student, as they navigate the academic, social, and emotional challenges of their teenage years?

CONTACT:

Myles Gibbs - a 25-yr-old, professional offering tutoring for a variety of subjects (see below) and/or general mentoring as your son or daughter navigates the academic, social, and emotional challenges of their teenage years. Myles is an Oak Park resident, graduate of the University of Connecticut (Mechanical Engineering & German Studies), and technical sales professional working for General Electric. Myles has five years teaching experience and 25 years of diverse life experiences.

See my LinkedIn Profile: (concealed information)

Academic Tutoring Services:

- Subjects: Math, Science, History, Social Studies, Language (Spanish or German)

- Homework help, studying, college preparation

Mentoring:

- The proper balancing of academics, socializing, relationships, college prep, sports and extra-curricular activities during one's teenage years can be incredibly difficult and emotionally-taxing for the teen and their parents. Having recently (and I'd like to think successfully) navigating these years of my life, I'd like to offer my help to help your child achieve their full potential. During regular afterschool academic tutoring (HW & studying) sessions (if mentoring requested), I will also get to know the mentee, asking questions about their interests, concerns, activities & goals and listening thoughtfully as a mentor and hopefully, as a friend. Based on goals, interests, and parent's input, I'll provide thought-out advice on how to prioritize and work hard to achieve those goals.

NOTE: If mentoring not requested, Myles will focus purely on academic tutoring.

RATES: Negotiable depending on age, location, services requested, session frequency, etc. (generally ~$20/hr)

LOCATION: Myles holds regular sessions at student's homes or at a local library (whichever preferred)

IF INTERESTED: Please reach out, and Myles would be happy to provide a detailed personal bio/resume and participate in an interview. Looking forward to the discussion and hopefully having the opportunity to help your student learn and thrive!
