About Emily
I am currently a senior at Santa Clara University, and I am pursuing a Psychology major with a minor in Mathematics. I have been tutoring kids in math since I was in high school, and after taking many college math courses, I now tutor kids ranging from elementary school up to the college level. I also have other experience working with kids as I was a camp counselor for two summers at Champ Camp located in Manhattan Beach, CA. My goal is to become a math teacher at the middle school or high school level, and I am passionate about teaching kids math and making a difference in kids' lives.
The thing I enjoy most is getting to meet so many unique kids of diverse backgrounds, and I enjoy figuring out what works best for each student because everyone learns differently.
I have always enjoyed helping people and I have always loved math, so I started out by helping my friends with their homework once in a while. I realized how rewarding this is so I started branching out and tutoring more students. These experiences have led me to want to become a math teacher, so I am currently pursuing graduate programs to get a Master's in Education along with my teaching credential.

The first thing I do is get to know the student a little bit so that they feel more comfortable working with me. I also make sure to figure out their learning style so that I can cater my teaching to best fulfill their needs.
