About Luke

Hello!

My name is Luke! I just finished my third year studying mechanical engineering at California Baptist University. I've been tutoring math, physics, and engineering subjects for 4 years now at both high school and college levels. My passion is to help students have a fuller understanding of math and physics concepts and provide them with tools to become independent learners and masters of whatever subject they are studying.

Most of my experience has been through my university; tutoring individual students who were struggling with new concepts in college algebra, calculus, and physics. However, I have also had experience tutoring at the high school level.

I love seeing students finally understand and be able to solve problems that previously seemed impossible. Students learn and understand things in so many different ways. My goal is to come along side students and help them in a more personal way that they can understand.

About the lesson

The first step is always making a relationship with the student and then assessing why the student is reaching out for additional help. After getting a sense of what the student needs help with, we could spend time going over essential concepts, practicing difficult problems, or even talking about effective organizational and study habits.

I have worked with a wide variety of high school and college students. Most of them requested tutoring because there were concepts they had been struggling with in class. I've also worked with students with minor learning disabilities, adult students, and younger children.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out

Do your best to try everything on your own first and dont be afraid to make mistakes. It's much easer to help students if we can clearly see and be open what they're struggling with.
