About Alexandra

I am interdiciplenary professional with years of experience writing environmental and conservation advocacy policy nationally. This work relies not only on strong writing skills but also an ability to communicate complex science, math, and environmental concepts to a diverse audience. I use these same skills to communicate and teach my students the same lessons in science and math in an approachable and understandible way. I enjoy using my professional experience to help communicate the value of education to my students.

I have a Bachelors of Science in Marine Biology, extensive experience writing professionally for federal and advocacy purposes, and experience working on Capitol Hill. I also have years of experience working in recreational sports coaching in a variety of sports for children ages 4 through 18 with the Long Beach Parks and Recreation Department. I served as the Director of the Department's music and arts day camp for three years leading all programming and logistics for 100 campers and managing 15 staff members.

I have a bachelors of science in marine biology with a minor in environmental science and policy. I have worked in the environmental advocacy field for nearly 10 years and have extensive experience explaining complex science and math concepts to diverse audiences.

I also worked as a recreational youth sports coach for children, ages 4-18, at the Long Beach City Parks and Recreation Department and directed the local music and arts day camp leading all programming and logistics for 100 campers and supervising 15 staff.

About the lesson

I assess a new student's current status and thier perspective of the subject matter. We talk about learing types and how to improve communication so that I can help them accomplish thier academic goals.

Once we've had an introductory session we make a plan to create good learning habits. I also explain more difficult concepts and provide any necessary catch-up lessons to make sure every student is prepared and ready to move forward with thier learning and with their peers.
