About Astrid

Hello!

I'm a Swedish engineering student with passion for helping others. I have always loved seeing people around me learn, grow and succeed.

I know learning a new subject can be overwhelming, and that feeling of hopelessness is what I'm trying to avoid. My intention is to create a personal connection with you in order to understand your goals and desires. From there, we can make a plan that makes learning fun and motivating.

I used to help friends in college, and that is how I realized I have a passion for it.

When I was in college I was struggling with math at first, which means I put most effort into these specific courses. All the hours spent on learning and understanding made me love it. From the four years and many, many courses, Math is what still comes naturally since I understand it to the base and put som much effort into it that I don't think I could ever forget a single rule or formula. In the end, I was the one teaching my friends.

I believe that my initial struggle makes me a good tutor. I naturally have an understanding for students that are struggling.

About the lesson

At first, I would suggest an "intro-session" where we introduce ourselves and get to know eachother a little. This is mainly to build some kind of trust and comfort. But also for me to understand the issues the student is facing, and the goals and desires of the student. That way it will be easy for me to prepare the first actual study session.

High school students, and friends in college.

Make sure the tutor is legit, and on a suitable intellectual level for you.

As the teacher, I would like to know if;

You have any personal preference on teaching style?

You have any personal issues that you want me to be aware of?

What course is going to be the main focus?

Do you have one specific issue with the course or do you think you will need assistance throughout the whole course?

Are we in a rush (is due date coming up soon) or can we make a reasonable plan for your learning curve? I know sometimes due dates slip pass us and we realize way too late to be able perform as we wish. But please be honest on this one and I will do all in my favor to help.
