About Alexandra

I am a college student, so I understand the pressures that students feel to do well and excel in every possible area. I also understand how people respond to that pressure, and I can work with students of all ages and in a wide array of subject areas to excel.

I tutor many students in the Baltimore area for another company, but I am currently home from school and am looking to expand my services.

I graduated from high school last June, and I was my class's Valedictorian, and I maintained a 4.0 throughout my first year of college, which recently ended. With my own academic experience and the many students I have taught, I am well-equipped.

I started tutoring because of my involvement with National Honor Society, and I have loved it and sought more opportunities ever since.

I received an above average score on the SAT and ACT, I graduated as my high school valedictorian, and I am currently working towards earning my B.A. in Chemistry.

About the lesson

I listen to the student as he/she/they explain points of confusion, strategies that work/do not work, and where they hope to go. I then modify my own teaching to accommodate the individual's needs and to capitalize on their strengths.

Kindergarteners-12th graders.

I have had students from public schools, private schools, and who are homeschooled.

Look for a person who cares not only about the subject matter but also about the students he/she is working with. Having someone who cares about your success as much as you do will allow you to have the best experience.

A student I worked with who struggled with confidence and content retention received an A on her final exam for geometry, and she was beyond ecstatic. Seeing her hard work pay off was very rewarding.

I do not. I care more about the student experience than the pricing of my services, so I am flexible. (Rates are slightly higher if I have to travel further.)
