About Amy
I have always felt like a teacher since I was a young child. I was usually the one helping my friends with their homework. Once I got to college, I began being in a wide range of classrooms during my practicums, teaching everything from the letters of the alphabet to Pre-Algebra. I have even expanded my teachings and am now also a certified yoga teacher!
I have my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education (K-6). Immediately upon graduating college I taught as an interim 6th grade Reading and Writing teacher for three months. As soon as that ended, I tutored both middle and high school students for the next year and a half.

I enjoy getting to know each student, their likes & dislikes, hobbies, & interests. I love seeing how unique each student is. I often take this information & use it in my teaching style with them such as using their hobbies as interests as examples when trying to explain something. I love being able to work with students one-on-one and really tailor my teaching to their learning style & interests.
I am also a constant positive reinforcer.
I have worked with students who are in Kindergarten all the way up to sophomores in high school.
I recently sat around a fire under the full moon with some new friends and played music.
