About Liam
I am a patient and passionate math tutor studying Finance at LMU. I have been tutoring since 2018 including working as an instructor at Mathnasium.
I enjoy filling in those gaps of knowledge that result from students not getting the attention they need in a crowded classroom. Finding those gaps and constructing lesson plans to fill them and help students reach their potential is what excites me about tutoring.
In High School, a friend reached out to me asking if I'd tutor his neighbor. I said yes and helped raise the grade from an F to a B+. This experience showed me how I was able to help students reach their full potential and get results.
I am a Freshman at LMU studying Finance. I have been an instructor at Mathnasium for 6 months, as well as a private tutor for 2 years. As a Mathnasium employee, I have gone through instructor training and tutored all types of students K-12.

When I start working with a student I learn the gaps in their knowledge. It's hard to do the current unit if you're struggling with the last one. To do this I go over old tests as well as ask diagnostic questions. Once I have a better idea of how the student is doing I can create a plan that will help the student catch up while staying up to date with current material.
As a Mathnasium instructor, I have worked with a wide variety of students. From students falling behind to students who weren't being challenged enough. I have tutored students with different learning styles and different levels of interest in math.

First lesson is free and is more of a getting to know you session to see if I am a good fit for the students needs. After that its $30/hr. Sessions are generally 1 to 2 hours depending on the students needs.
