About Chelsea

I have experience as a 7th grade math teacher. I am certified to teach math up to the Algebra I level but I can assist with high school math as well. I have my Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from Roanoke College and my passion for math is strong.

I love math and working with students who struggle with math. My goal is to help students cultivate a better understanding of math.

I decided in college that wanted to persue education. I majored in math and minored in elementary education. After student teaching in the middle school setting, I decided to become endorsed to teach middle school math.

I am a K-8 licensed teacher with a mathematics degree. I have experience in the middle school classroom and have tutored students in math before.

About the lesson

I have worked with elementary students but I have the most experience working with middle school students. I have also worked with some older students taking Algebra and Geometry.

Find someone that makes you feel comfortable and pushes you to do your best.

This past school year, I tutored a student of mine once a week for the majority of the school year. He was concerned about passing the end of year test (SOL in the state of Virginia). After taking the test that day, he came to me to find out his score. He was shocked to find out that he had passed! I felt like all of the hard work we had done throughout the year had paid off.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Try to narrow down the areas that you need help with the most. Working on skills that you already excel in won't be helpful during a tutoring session. We need to work on skills that you struggle with.
