My name is Natasha, and I’m a rising sophomore at Harvard-Westlake. I’m writing to recommend Joseph for SAT math tutoring.
Towards the end of freshman year, I was having a lot of trouble with Geometry. I worked really hard and was considered great in class, but I tested really really poorly. I got very frustrated with myself, because it seemed that the studying and extra work I did wasn’t helping. My parents were frustrated too, because they saw how much effort I was putting into the class and didn’t know how to help me.
My mom called up my aunt to ask for advice, and my aunt mentioned Joseph, who was working with my 3 cousins. My aunt only had good things to say about him, and emphasized how he was really able to connect with my cousins and get through to them. The main takeaway that my mom got from that conversation was that Joseph really seemed to care about the students he was teaching, and was highly invested in helping them grow.
I started working with him on May 16th. Immediately, I understood the material way better and all of my grades became high A’s. My parents were relieved that I was finally understanding the material, and I began to have an easier time in math class.
Joseph makes an effort to help those who he is tutoring in any way he can. He’s sent me a bunch of summer opportunities that I can get involved in, and has stressed that he’s here to help in any way.
In the end, Joseph is an awesome tutor who makes an effort to engage his students and goes beyond the virtual classroom.
