About Timothy

I am just a guy, I’m no professional business, but throughout school I have helped tutor my peers many times. I’m very excellent in math. I maintain a 4.0 GPA, and I got a 1380 on the PSAT, i.e, top 1% in the nation. But I’m not some brash nerd, (well a bit awkward), but I can still be enjoyable and understanding to my student(s), and make sure we both enjoy what we gotta do. I will take as long as it needs, and I am very available, and I will try whatever methods until we get you to learn what you need. Hope to hear.

Peers and teachers began asking me in school frequently to help, and since I usually had extra time and I enjoy helping people, it became habit.

I’m currently attending EWU via running start, and throughout High School I taught my peers often because I was well known for my intelligence, but also because I wasn’t weird or anything, and they were comfortable working with me. I helped out my friends many times.

About the lesson

1 - Identify the subject(s) and refresh myself on them, while compiling all the necessary info

2 - Consult the student and/or parent on what they are struggling with

3 - Go through each type of problem one on one, and do a demonstration problem and how to do it

4 - Have them try on their own, and correct or help with any mistakes

5 - Continue step 4 until minimal mistakes are made, and then move on to the next subject.

Mainly high school students, but I have also helped out younger kids, usually relatives, with mathwork. I like making good analogies to help them, or explain it in a simpler way, that teaches the necessary idea, not the complicated unnecessary things.

Meet up with them beforehand. It’s hard to learn from someone you don’t enjoy. Personal connection matters.

$15/hour would be nice, but I am up for negotiations. Will likely charge more if you live far or if I have to work extreme hours.
